Maybe compared to the first 10 pages of Basil issue 1 -- because I was pretty off model then and made his head smaller so he looked even fatter than his size chart. I also think the perspective here is tricking you / you're not getting a good feel for Basil in this outfit yet having not seen future pages. That, or your memory isn't serving you right in this instance.
