Taipan is a black dragonborn (the kind with acidic breath) who is all about how dangerous nature can be, and the general natural cycles of life and death in nature. He sees most other views of nature (and animals and people as a whole) as overly saccharine. That said, he does hate civilization’s wasteful “unnatural” tendencies (but doesn’t hate civilization as a whole).
