This is the second reference to "Boston Charlie" in regards to a Christmas carol, and I'm baffled by the connection. Must be an East Coast thing

"Deck Us All With Boston Charlie" was a long-running gag in Walt Kelly's comic strip "Pogo." The lyrics had a slight tendency to wander over the years, but there are six verses:

Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla Walla, Wash., an’ Kalamazoo!
Nora’s freezin’ on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley-garoo!

Don’t we know archaic barrel
