That was a really fun one to work on, turning that graveyard setting into something more fun during autumn, with some neat colours and not the typical drab grey that so often end up in graveyard themed pictures. Hope you all like it!

A necromancers first Raise Dead is always an exciting event. the feeling of Power and Control over life and death. the draw of such dark power affords so many oppertunites for corruption and misuse. but surely the necromancer is a good and benefical person right? obviously such Knowledge can be used for the right things..
right?
right?
Very fond of Graveyard scenes for Werewolf and other kinds of Shadowy Wolf Hounds.. :D Kass may or may not be related in some fashion to a church grim, Barghest, Black Shuck ..
I had made Kass a long time before I had known about such things, but someone linked me once to a particular tower in York where there is a notorious black wolf that likes to beset upon travellers. The woodblock art looked a lot like a certain wolf with wings.. I was amused. What kind of "beset"did that horn dog let loose in the day.. Hrmm..

A most evocative picture, this.
I enjoy exploring old cemeteries; the headstones, with their distinctive shapes and decorative carvings, are works of art in themselves. And, I think of the stories they tell, and the ones I must imagine.
"Wow...Errol Lynde (1873-1974) lived to be a centenarian. I wonder what he was like"
"Oh, Frederich Fascher was buried beside his wife Astrid only three months later. They weren't parted by death for long"
"This child was only two. Imagine: her mother had to bury her child and then carry on..."

Yeah i especially love graveyards that are really old and you're just going through there just about managing to decypher stuff like1786 or something like that despite the weatherting from all those years.
Just having that brief connection with someone who lived two to three lifetimes away in the very place i'm at, perhaps wandering the same rivers or forests, walking by some of the same houses in the historic town part and so on.

i am in awe of your lighting and colours !
Normally i would find this much bright yellow next to saturated magenta and dark de-saturated greens to be garish to the point of nausea - but you make it look pleasant.
Then i thought "Maybe it's because of a limited gamut ... no blue ...?" But , yes, there's blue areas when you look close : the whole rainbow in various values ...
Amazing !

my thought was "Death is just the beginning", the title of an older death metal compilation. :)
Iron Maidens' "Powerslave" could also fit. \m/
great colours, great scenery and atmosphere, with a beam of light illuminating whatever is up there... if there is anything up there to begin with. :)
