Well, back to doing humanoid wolves again despite my prior pledge to try something more simple. The reason is something I never thought I would say as an actual said reason. Sonic.
I'm not a fan of the series, as I considered it a bit 'beneath' me as one of those kiddy series, no offense intended to anyone. But I did come across Sonic Forces on the Switch at 80% off, so if I figured, zog it, let's give it a look at. It wasn't the greatest game in the world, but it was fun. I did like the character creator though, even more so with the 'default' wolf character that the serie's fans love. So, I figured I'd do a character inspired by said default wolf with a few tweaks and some of my own ideas thrown in for good measure, especially if I ended up writing Forces instead with a setting outside of Sonic. The result is Gadget the Wolf, hanging around in an underground tunnel, for some reason. And yes, that is something like a Titanfall Jump Kit he has on there!
This was a pretty fun and challenging piece to do. I still need 3D models to help, but no tracing was needed this time as I was actually bang on the mark by doing it by hand and adjusted the pose myself. I haven't done anything focusing on one particular colour before, and whilst the wall isn't exactly what I was aiming for, it's still something I'm pretty chuffed about! Especially with all the little details in there on both Gadget and the background. We'll see what happens with him down the line.
