World War Fur – Cover drawing and story overview

I couldn’t let a story I’ve been working so hard on (heheh, I said hard on) begin without a cover. And this is that cover. I started out planning to draw everyone on one page (see sketch in scraps) but quickly shifted to individual drawings, later combined and colored in MS Paint. The gradient shades were done in Excel since Paint doesn’t offer such nifty features.

I really like how this came out, and it took me a long time to do, and I’m not an artist, so even if ya don’t read the story show me a little love here, yeah? hehe

Welcome to World War Fur. This story picks up after the events of My Breakfast with Androcles and the long-running RP Stranger in a Strange Dorm with  2010_mustang_lol and myself. Because the RP was never posted here, you may feel that you’re walking into the middle of a story at the start of World War Fur – but fear not! Events pertinent to the plot get recapped and explained along the way, so any confusion is my way of building tension within the story.

This story will be presented in three parts, or books. Each book will be broken down into chapters that will be posted weekly. Since my last story had crazy long chapters, I’m breaking this venture down into easier chunks. I’m also going to ‘tag’ the contents of each book, whether a given chapter includes that particular tagged element or not. For example, book one has chapters referencing vore, but I’m not specifying which chapters do. There will be instances of violence and gore, which I won’t spoilerize with tags. Since it fits into the framework of the story, I hope you’ll trust that I’m not tossing in unpleasant elements just for the shock value.

So, what is World War Fur? At its core, it’s a story of relationships. Given the title, there would be an expectation of war and battle. These things happen, but this is not a war story. It’s about how the characters respond to events where bigotry and fear overwhelm them.

I really want to acknowledge  2010_mustang_lol for his help and support while I’ve been writing this (and hope he continues to help and support since I still have two books to go!). Besides trusting me to borrow two of his characters for this story, he’s been my technical advisor and unofficial proofreader and a good friend. Thank you, buddy!
