Nov 17, 2042- Day 58
I seems that I am to be put on a daily routine for the time being. Partly to make sure that my mind stays sharp but also to try and get me to exercise a lot more than I have been. His excuse is that familiarity will allow me to build good, healthy habits to be able to maintain as much of my mental acuity and physical prowess as I can.
Personally I just think he’s growing bored trying to find yet another thing for me to do. Honestly, it feels like he’s far more concerned about me not losing myself in the animal I am becoming far more than I am, which is kind of saying something. It’s nice and all, and I know this is effectively his job for the time being, but doesn’t make it any less annoying. It’s starting to feel like I’m on some sort of boot camp rather than someone taking care of me as I lose my ability to take care of myself.
Though that does bring to question of what happens when my transformation has finished. Will he be given someone else to start taking care of and I end up being given no more consideration than Felix here? And then there’s the issue of how long will the rest of my life even be? Because I can’t imagine foxes living longer than dogs and those don’t exactly live all that long, especially since I wasn’t exactly extremely young to begin with.

Well, of course your life span's going to be shortened! You only get 40 billion or so heartbeats, after all, and you'd be quite the lazy fox for a quick dog to jump over if you had the average human heart rate as one!
(You made it way too easy to be Mr. Unhelpful this time. Give me more of a challenge, please! )

The transformee lifespan is an interesting question. From one side, the victim proceeds a forced change, which is extreme illness and it has to be shorter. From second: it is very alike to gain extreme regeneration ability, which increases lifespan infinitely.
So, it is up to author to decide. There are no hardcoded limits in each species (except, of course, those who dies shortly after mating like octopus, moth, or spiders).

Well I suppose part of it is that it also depends on are you still being affected by the thing transforming you after you've completely finished transforming. Because, then if yes, it would potentially be transforming you into the ideal age for an adult of your end species indefinitely. Which would mean you would never age. But if it does stop when you finish transforming, then the moment you're done changing you'll start to age again, which will bring back the question of well, which state is your lifespan still based on.
