I love being general manager of the Minutemen. When I saw that I took control of the worst team in the league last season, I wanted to build up their image and history. I wanted to give them an identity.
It's hard work...
But I've loved every minute of it!
This installment is two sets of jerseys that the team has worn in their history.
The top row is the set that the Mnutemen have worn the longest in their history. It's significant in the sense that it is the uniform that they wore during their 2002-03 championship season. The player and number represent two important players during the period: forward/center Zak Pejovic (red fox) and hybrid guard Karen McCall (fennec fox).
Pejovic played power forward and took over at center for the best big man in the team's history, William Butenschen. McCall was drafted specifically to compliment aging guards Jake Masters (orange tabby) and Stan Shields (wolf).
The uniforms on the bottom row represent the first uniform change in team history. They're a little garish, but that was the style in the early 1990s. It's also significant in the sense that the team wore these uniforms for their first two Finals appearances (1992-93, 1993-94).
On the left is the German William Butenschen (jaguar), who remains the career rebound leader for the franchise. His career was cut short due to nerve complications from a broken ankle sustained just after the start of the 1995-96 season.
The right jersey is Stan Shields (wolf). The career assists leader for the Minutemen, Shields and Masters were teammates for 17 consecutive seasons.
