This is my end in a trade series with me and Megz from ToyHouse!
Draco grinned to himself while in flight, his large wings beating against the air. The dragon knight had departed from his homeland to explore the neighboring lands, aiming to satisfy his lust for adventure and exploration. The black dragon knight was decked out in his own royal garb fit for a knight, with golden jewels adorning his body and a cream colored garb. He is royalty after all.
Gliding along in the air, Draco beamed while staring at head, flying in the blue sky while also directing his eyes downwards to the ground surface, watching the scenery pass by below him. The black dragon enjoyed flying to an extent, but he mostly entertained himself with flight over an ocean, suiting his preference more. Yet this particular instance was different. While he loved flying, this instance is for exploration purposes.
While flying about, Draco notices a figure ahead that appears to be ambling along a pathway. Seeing this, the black dragon swoops down to meet the figure, landing and touching down half a mile away. He folds his large wings back and starts to jog towards the figure, curious of their appearance. While jogging, he calls out, "Hey!!! You there!!!"
Draco only sees the green back of this figure and to his surprise and elation, it is another dragon! What he didn't notice, however, is the expression this green dragon is wearing.
The green dragon whirls on Draco, ready to fight when he notices a black dragon before him. His fists are raised up in anticipation, ready for a beatdown when his golden eyes inflate in surprise; this causes him to lower his guard, leaving himself to be shell-shocked. He whispers, "No way! Another dragon!"
The two just stare at each other in stunned silence, analyzing and surveying one another and their appearances. Draco mainly had jewelry on him along with his garment on his body whereas this green dragon has a more tribal appearance: brown loincloth, silver wristbands, and a gold pendant. For a short, tense while, no one said anything; they just stared each other down. Then one of them finally makes a move...
Draco humbly bows to the green dragon in a greeting gesture, straightening himself up afterwards. He introduces himself, "I am Draco, royal knight from the land of Dynevor! I have been traveling abroad in search of new lands to expand my services; I believe I have found the land I am searching for to accomplish such a thing; a land of dragons. I believe I am capable of extending my services to this land as you wish."
At first, the green dragon just stared, his golden eyes inflated in astonishment and wonder. And then he introduces himself in return, having grown interested in the black dragon himself. He returns the gesture with a greeting bow of his own in humility while introducing himself, "My name is Finn Dunlop, and I am a warrior of the Eastern Sky tribe. I warmly welcome you to this land!"
"Eastern Sky?" Draco implies in intrigue, "So this is the Eastern Sky territory I have the pleasure of being toured around on? And you are a fellow warrior of this sacred tribe? This will be splendid! I'd be more than happy to expand my services here as a knight!"
The duo starts laughing together at the joyous occasion of welcoming and giving a royal knight a grand tour of the fairgrounds. The only hurdle they'll have to face, or hope they will not have too much trouble with, is the leader or tribal chieftain. After all, the chieftain has the final say in diplomatic matters. Finn knows this by heart, given his status as a warrior and a fierce reputation as a barbarian. But since he is on friendly, non-hostile terms with Draco, he still passes on his cautionary advisory to the knight.
While excited at the prospect, Finn mentions his tribe's status and reputation while warning Draco, "The Eastern Sky tribe consists mainly of warriors. We play all parts in our daily lives; business, patrols, diplomacy matters, hunting, we do all of that. But I must warn you, our chieftain will have the final verdict on whether you get to travel here or not."
Draco happily complies with Finn's advisory, clasping his hands together before the green dragon and responding, "Whatever verdict he gives is fine with me! I am happy to accept whatever choice he makes."
Finn opens his large wings and prepares for takeoff when he hears a roar from above. Draco listens in, having heard the same thing. There is another screeching roar that is heard once more by both dragons; it is closer and louder this time, followed by the sound of beating wings mixing in. Once Finn and Draco locate the source, they display mixed, yet separate reactions.
Finn only smiles upon recognizing who it is swooping down to meet them while Draco just stared, watching in awe. Diving down to meet them is a red / cream Western Dragon decked out in similar tribal garb. Only difference is that this one is taller and more muscular while wearing a light gray loincloth, an amber necklace, brown wristbands and footbands, and a golden sash draped around his left side. But this red / cream warrior also carries a sword with him, the blade glistening in the sun while the hilt is clutched tightly in his right hand.
Draco's staring only lasts for a short while until he sees the drawn sword coming from this warrior. And he draws his own sword in return, ready for an anticipating battle. But before anyone can make a move, Finn quickly steps in between them, the green dragon himself shielding Draco. He commands the red dragon, "Gunther, lower your weapon. He is friendly to us, and on our terms."
Gunther just stares at Finn in return, not even moving a muscle. But when Finn's words finally register in Gunther's mind, the red dragon blinks and shakes his head, snapping himself out of his battle mode daze. He secures his swords and leans over to get a good view of the guest; his eyes inflate upon catching sight of the black dragon and he returns to his full height, amazed at meeting another dragon.
"You mean," Gunther began slowly while beginning to finally understand the full picture, "This newbie is one of us now? But he hasn't seen the chief yet! Only if he sees the chief will he be one of us or not."
"Royalty or not, it doesn't matter." Finn recalled in return, gazing pointedly at the red dragon in return. He gives away Draco's status without even realizing it, much to Gunther's and Draco's surprise; especially Gunther.
Finn barely has time to move out of the way from being steamrolled by Gunther when the red / cream warrior hauls it towards Draco, squeezing the black dragon in an excited embrace after finding out firsthand (and unintentionally) from Finn that Draco is of royal status. Draco himself hardly has any time to react since things were happening so fast at once.
His green eyes inflating in stunned silence and alarm, Draco finds himself being squeezed in a crushing hug by the red warrior. The same warrior that has swooped down to fight off this mysterious intruder is now welcoming him to the land upon learning that he is of royal status. It is quite amazing how the overall mood of a situation can change in the blink of an eye at certain intervals.
Gunther releases his hold on the dragon knight, giving him room to breathe. While Draco recovers, Gunther goes straight to the point; excited at meeting a knight, the red warrior implies, "So you're a royal knight? You must be wealthy with those jewels you're wearing!"
Draco straight-up blushes from the enthusiasm radiating from Gunther. He shoots Finn an inquisitive stare, to which the green dragon just shrugs in return. Gunther, on the other hand, is ecstatic on just seeing and meeting Draco that he takes an instant liking to him. And underneath that enthusiasm is something that Gunther has been dreaming of for a while.
Gunther further reveals, "I've always wanted to be royalty. Royal knight, royal ruler, king; leader or chieftain of my own land or tribe. But a huge setback got in the way of all that. Other than that, I'm more than happy to show a knight around our lands!"
Draco gives Gunther a curious, yet inquisitive gaze upon picking up on the mood swing. Yet he says nothing in return. He just listens to what Gunther has to say. After considering what Gunther said on his personal claim, Draco obliges with a light shrug of his shoulders and agrees to the tour, "Sure! I would love to be shown around your lands, but I would also like to meet the tribal chieftain first and see what he has to say on the matter."
"Point taken!" Finn opens his large wings again, readying himself for take-off. Flapping his wings, the green dragon begins to ascend into the air; Gunther and Draco are not too far behind him. But within their culture, Finn adds, "We'll bring you to the chieftain and wait on his verdict. Then we'll go from there."
Though Draco is poised to meet this tribal chieftain and explore the territory, he is also happy with whatever outcome is made, showing no ill will or hostile intent toward these creatures. On the other hand, Finn and Gunther are anxious, Gunther most of all, on the chieftain's final say in the matter. All these two can hope for is a positive verdict or else their one chance at establishing relations with a neighboring kingdom is forever gone.
Draco belongs to Megz; Finn Dunlop and Gunther Williamson belong to me!
