Back when I first concepted the Si'itians I came up with the NSOC before properly defining the guard. I produced a design for an NSOC dropship that was supposedly based on its bigger guard counterpart, but failed to ever design that.
Eventually I made some sketches, but I never really managed to flesh out the design up until a little while ago.
I might draw it's little NSOC brother some time, but this is gonna be it for now =^-^=
Shakukri GDV8 Exoatmospheric Landing Vehicle
Designer and Manufacturer: Vashkuk Engineering
Unit Cost: (GDV8) 265-330 million Anri (variations by loadout)
Weight: 268t (metric)
Dimensions:
L: 48,6 - 52,1 m (depending on tail configuration)
W: 23,6 m
H: 12,4 m
Propulsion:
2 Casmium reaction engines, alternately MAD capable, vectored thrust
Soft MAD stabilizers
Magnetic space splitting emitter and MS stabilizer for limited trans-system travel and MS insertion
Armor:
170 - 240mm Alisium Armorframe fitted with Casmasite
Dylectrics Corp. Energy shield
Armament:
Saimati V36 50mm repeater cannon
Options
2 Ca-bug launcher modules (40-Ca bug missiles each)
2 Saimati N4 7,5mm directed energy projectors (door guns for drop-platform)
Various aditional weaponry, requires specialized chassis modifications
Background
The Shakukri is not necessarily a recent addition to the Guard Navy’s vehicle assets. It is however one of it’s most distinguishing ones. Aside from landing a ship from orbit, the Shakukri is the most frequently used vehicle for transporting troops and equipment between surface and orbit. Additionally it has found use as a medium payload military cargo transport, as super heavy CAS alongside Krios gunships and Koshen utility lifters.
Due to its relatively modular nature it can be fitted for pretty much any situation, but its notoriety stems from its reliability and ruggedness as a troop insertion vehicle. Capable of carrying up to 20 fully armed si’itian guardsmen and additional weaponry and ammunition it has seen extensive use in spearhead operations.
Maintenance crews favor its easy handling, while pilots have a split opinion about it. On the surface some criticize it for being slugish in comparison to other atmospheric craft, though enthusiasts generally point out that it’s not meant solely for surface actions and that craft it tends to be compared to are in turn not capable of exoatmospheric travel or perform very poorly when outside a gaseous and gravitational environment.
Guardsmen have a more favoring view of it though. For them it has been a reliable workhorse that’s carried them to battle and recovered them from it as well ever since it’s introduction. Despite rumors of a successor the Shakukri is likely to see many more years of service before being retired.

Can't fave Fatal error. I just write. *Add the usual "awesome, cool, brilliant stuff here"* Nice design man I like how aerodynamic it feels, the mechanics of the side door, and the engine placement is just where it should be. I enjoyed to read the info and the variants you described made my brain spin like windmill. That show how much you planed this. I'm really amazed. It's good to know I'm not the only one who does ship background and some more in-dept planning for things around our universe.

Having ears like that? Well, I think it can be effectively summed up by the phrase "Good sweet gods, I can hear AMOEBAS fart! From five kilometers away!". As for the sensations of them being snuggled? That's also fairly easy: from a human perspective, it would be very odd. However, if you look at feline responses, they seem to like physical contact, especially with their ears and around that area, so I would hazard a guess, if there are appropriate parallels in development, that it would be anything ranging from mildly pleasant to almost erotic, depending also upon cultural attitudes attached to the physical sensations.
