"After a few minutes of rigorous application of ordinance, it's always tactically prudent to send in your 9 foot tall power armored heavy infantry to mop up anything that was smart enough to take cover with the rigorous application of bullets and anti-infantry frag missles. Anything that lives through this should be rewarded with more ordinance, bullets, and missles, possibly fire as well"

Not sure about fallout radius, but you can outrun the plume if you're fast (and have good NBC filters). The radius of prompt radiation injury is a great deal longer (at full blast yield) than the minimum effective range, however. The two guns that could fire the projectile had ranges of 2 and 4 km respectively, and I'll quote Wikipedia here:
Even at a low yield setting, the M-388 would produce an almost instantly lethal radiation dosage (in excess of 10,000 rem) within 500 feet (150 m), and a probably fatal dose (around 600 rem) within a quarter mile (400 m).
The W54 in the Davy Crockett had dial-a-yield settings of 10 and 20 tons yield, but the version of the W54 in the backpack nuke could be dialed up to 1 kiloton with the same amount of fissionables - perhaps the SADM employed fusion boosting for a more efficient fission burn? Assuming one employs the device at the never-employed 1kT setting, the radiation hazard range is 840 meters, assuming an ideal airburst height. Even the smaller of the two guns could easily chuck the weapon far enough for the crew to survive, moreso if it is mounted in the back of a Jeep that is immediately used to flee at highway speeds or, better, behind a small mountain.
But yeah, fallout is so horribly unpredictable because there's no way to predict what way the wind will be blowing when charlie dances the foxtrot on your position.

Yeah. Rather a lot like it is now, assuming current conflicts. There's nowhere we would really be willing to leave glowing craters to wipe out entire field-armies these days. War is where the people are, and unless we're going to flatten cities full of innocent bystanders, we're going to keep falling back on house-to-house fighting.
Actually, having thought about this a bit, the North-South Korea balance of artillery would be very on par... right now, the North has enough conventional artillery aimed and loaded to level Seoul in their first few salvoes. We had a Davy Crockett pointed at each artillery site, they'd get exactly one shot.
China wouid be shitting bricks, however.

I love the style of this. Solid plates over the limbs and vital areas, with an interlocking weave along the midriff; providing optimal protection without bulking down on Mechanically-assisted movement. In fact only her left arm looks even marginally assisted, and it's rather obvious why (600 Round per minute I wanna venture a guess at, what a kick!)
At first I thought this was the tau commander from warhammer http://www.dignews.com/legacy/scree.....awn_art_03.jpg
makes me want to play dawn of war again <3 very nicely done!

Ah damn it worked for me before D: thanks for pointing it out http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs24/f/2.....uftwaffles.jpg there we go :3
this picture is just great artwork! it's nearly close to the realistic art style! i'm quite astonished by it!
i've noticed that the armor is looking like to be inspired from the exo-armor of the tau commander
in Dark Crusade, it has a lot of similarities that positively surprised me! oh i feel a slightly inspiration of
Halo Spartan armor, on part of the armor~! i've got to say it's really a genious mix of 2 awesome armor,
and that's pretty outstanding! Fantastic work sir! >:3

The entire thing is completely gorgeous. I would try to throw in some constructive criticism, but, seriously, I can't find anything wrong with it. Normally i would see a blur as kind of a screwup, but that's the first time I've ever seen a decent pic of a spinning minigun barrel. (Barrels? would you refer to the assembly as a barrel or barrels?) So kudos to you, and I hope to see more of your art.
And a note: I am not a artwhore, If your commissions are closed I respect that. Its just i feel like whenever i comliment someone on their work, they might think I'm JUST trying to get on thier (their? Damn, that one allllways gets me.) good side. I'm not. I love your work, plain and simple, and hope that if you ever open up commissions again that i can get a spot.

Love this one. Giant mechs/power armour has always been a favourite of mine, and trying to design some giant mech-suits for my story is still a problem I face. Stuff like this gives me hope I may one day get something half decent drawn. And it'll still be inferior to this by a long shot, heh.
Heh, I have a small thought on this one. As if saying: "Hey that one looked at me funny! Kill em!"
Or completely off topic:
"Seems you brought a knife to a gun fight."
"Well it seems you brought a gun to a tank fight."
"WELL it seems you brought a tank to a jet fight!"
"WELL YOU BROUGHT A JET TO A MISSILE FIGHT!!!"
