Before people start going all out on trying to figure out how the Raance Neuh spell will play a pivotal role in this particular story since this is the second time this spell has been brought up specifically in this story, let me just say that no, it does not show up at all the entire rest of the story. Mige is simply too weak to put it to much effectiveness and Gregory doesn't know how to do it. It has no use in Anaelin, but does see some use in the second book Nioren and even more in the third book Ranien. It was brought up earlier to show what it could do when working together and then introduced to Gregory to show that not only is Mige more skilled at magic but also provide the means so that in spite of them having completely different backgrounds that he would have the ability to cast the spell. This way, when Gregory uses it in books two and three, it'll be a sign of showing he's learned the spell and grown as a character rather than just "oh, I guess that spell is just common."

When I was plotting this section out there were a lot of things I knew I wanted to do. Mige needed to create the sky bridge to the church. I wanted to show that the guy from the last town had made an appearance as well as Mige noticing a particular symbol. Technically, they're supposed to see it as a tattoo, which is why they needed to be pantsed. But I didn't write that they saw the tattoo in this particular chapter. And finally I wanted Mige to have someone dance to show they're well enough to be able to start being a force of absolute chaos again. I just didn't realize how well it'd fit all together until I actually sat down and wrote it out.
