I think they are much heavier than a ton maybe 4 tons at least on the ultra-conservative side of an estimation however,I would think that a suitable material list would be more like a good quality canvas tarp type of cloth and for the fasteners something in the mid automotive grade range.Also I would recommend keeping cables away due to the tendency of cables frizzing very easily regardless of weight load and having many little razor sharp wires to jab you with when they frizz.
Always nice to to see a big, friendly face now and then. Especially one so cute! And with such a nice pair of... Built-in... Diving board... Spheres. Yeah. Let's go with that.

When I read that description, my mind went to a dirty, dirty place (read: changed macro to male and though "diving board"). Yeah, apologies for the mental image.
But I gotta say, you do perspective, and big, well. And how big is that pool? Given displacemnt, you must've either only half filled it before she got it so the level would water or the surrounding area became very wet she she got it. And dang, if this is her pool, I think geographically it may be classified as a man (or woman) made lake.
