It might be because she's young (the older quetz, like the queen and Saida's brother, are huge -- not sure about the other non-royal quetz who are about the same size as Saida), and hasn't yet become entrenched in ancestral toxicities. Maybe her adventure with Brand will prevent her from falling into that trap.
