i remember some pages where our dragon talked with that now angry bird and told him all they were slaves of those snakes but he refuses to hear and said was servants XP more his right now actions this could be the SPARK XD that causes a possible rebellion of the birds may be doing sabotage or going away without explanation or maybe trying remark trying to kill the snakes in the same way they kill them XD
It's to send a message.
Maybe not outright killing, but collective punishment is a know tactic to put people in place or extort rhem.
- People might take the risk for themselves, but now they know innocents will be punished for their own actions
- You don't want to be punished for something you didn't do ? you prevent that one smartass to do dumb things
Btw collective punition is banned under the article 3 of the geneva convention
