I'm minded of the time a flight of Blue Angels flying in overcast saw a Navy seaplane coming at them and went inverted. The Admiral piloting the seaplane decided the odds were 4 to 1 that HE had gotten inverted somehow, and he got about 45° banked before the co-pilot came rushing from the head and stopped him...
