RIP Gilbert Gottfried
News broke that the American comedic actor, Gilbert Gottfried passed away from heart disease.
Gilbert was best known for his grating voice that literally made him. Especially as Iago from the 1992 Disney Alladin and later the Aflac Duck that would quack out 'AFLAC' loudly. Later would be in Duckman doing various characters.
But he did numerous voices in animation and games as well.
And I'll never forget him as Sidney Bernstein in Beverly Hills Cop II.
He literally dropped of high school at age 15 and did the comedy clubs.
He was also a cast member in Saturday Night Live from 1980-1998
Sadly he also left two school age kids behind and wife.
God Speed you Gilbert.

I remember him on segments from the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, which he played numerous historical figures and animals. Like when they had March of the Penguins in theaters, he played a penguin in an interview with Leno "I walked thousands of miles to get laid, and she says 'Not tonight!'. And the nights are 6 months long! SON OF A BITCH!!!"
I can think of no better tribute to the man, than him in his own words... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkLqAlIETkA
Gilbert Gottfried played a character named "Johnny Crunch" in the 1990 Andrew Dice Clay comedy film, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. The movie itself wasn't great, but I always chuckle when I think of Gilbert Gottfried's character in the film because he lived on a large boat called, "The Mighty Penis." I can't help but laugh at that! I was so sad to hear that he had passed.
I heard the news on the radio while driving home from work yesterday. Caught me by surprise. I remember doing a casting call for Problem Child in Dallas years ago - used to get a few parts as extras in films shot there. Fun movie and even more fun if you recognize the areas where it was filmed.
I remember him doing a bit, I forget where, doing his bit in his voice and obviously trying to break up the actor there with him. I'll never forget his line, something on the order of, "I know what you're thinking, why did they hire an annoying Jew for the show?"
Y'know, I didn't like him at first, that voice ...... after Beverly Hills Cop 2 for some reason, I started liking him.
Iago's right, WAY too soon.
