I miss Steak n Shake, we don't get them on the west coast. I miss their shakes, but I miss their frisco melt even more. I've made copycat frisco melts in the past but never took photos. I used this recipe for the base: https://www.mashed.com/73361/steak-.....o-melt-recipe/
Instead of beef, I used turkey. The recipe goes on about having 3 types of ground beef that aren't exactly readily available and turkey is healthier anyway. The recipe also does not season the meat. I did, I used salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sorry but plain meat patties are not my thing at all. Finally I split the 4 patties in to 4 sandwiches instead of 2 because I wanted to use more of the bread and the patties weren't super flat for stacking.

Thoughts: Delicious! It's been so long since I've had a frisco melt that I can't really compare the flavors, but this at least satisfies my craving. I don't like cold swiss at all but I really like how it tastes when melted with other things.I have a lot of leftover ingredients including the sauce so I'll probably make them again a bit later.
