The family depicted in the mural are not based on any real family, but are instead vague archetypes in line with the propaganda goals of socialist realism. It was painted 58 years ago by three relatively unknown artists. They completed it in only two days, which earned them accolades from their superiors. Four years later, one of them was found guilty of murder and executed by hanging.
