Introduced in 1974, AK-74 is a second generation Russian assault rifle with a new chamber 5.45x39mm Russian which replaced the 7.62x39mm Russian AK-47.
It feature a muzzle brake, front/rear sight has changed, 90 degree angle gas block which an earlier has a 45 degree angle on the AK-74 prototype, new butt stock, also folding stock as optional, and new handguard.
Furniture on buttstock/handguard are laminated wood, synthetic, plum or dark brown fiberglass.
Magazine is Bakelite.
