I guess this is one way to intro to me posting YW/Yokai Watch stuff.

My YW story is pretty average. I started watching the anime when it first came out, and I played the DS games when they dropped. I'm not offended by the farting yokai or the butthole ones or anything, and I've been relatively aware of Japanese mythos with the obvious being bakaneko, nekomata, tsuchinoko, tanuki, kappa, and kitsune since the 90s. Obviously the kappa was easily learned through Harvest Moon and then Animal Crossing. Thus I sort of slipped into the fandom but mostly commented for years.

For awhile I even got called by some friends and people, the tsuchinoko fucker as a nickname. Which only escalated when Yokai Watch had tsuchinokos.

I used to draw nekomatas often, so drawing the banyan line and fusions came to mind between things.

The YW fandom is a small one, so I don't often see drama and thus kind of chill with it.

As for my opinion of the show/games. It's. . . wacky and feels very lol random so I understand why it's niche. It's definitely for kids but it feels like as you age, you end up aging out of it not into it.
