Three Needs a Haircut
This shows how my thought processes work sometimes about all of these characters bouncing around in my head.
Since Three tends to inhabit worlds where there isn't a native feline looking race she can pass herself off as, she spends time incognito. And I figure a drawback to that is that you have to cut your own hair. Three has these wacky bangs of varying length and I figure that the length of the day is determined by how recently she got angry at it falling in her face and sawed chunks of it off with a dagger. It isn't like she carries scissors, afterall.
Trivia: Three is also the only one of my myriad of characters that is a Christian. The rest are some flavor of atheist/agnostic, or follow the deity of the system they exist in.
I also just wanted to practice on her anatomy a little, what with her big shoulders and mostly flat chest and vaguely canine/feline face. I like drawing various shapes of characters from skinny to buff to tubby, and Three is somewhere in the middle of all of them in random little annoying to draw and figure out ways.
Of course, besides anatomy practice this was also practice with a very expensive brush I just bought. And so far I've learned that the rumors are true, nothing beats sable. It's a very responsive and fluid moving bristle that doesn't take a ton of work to manage. It will still laugh at you if you get nervous and have a shaky hand, but all brushes do that because I'm a crazy person and assume that when I mess up my pens are laughing at me and... what? Oh right, sable. Sable is good.
I colored it up in Sai and tried to make a concerted effort to keep directional lighting and shadow in mind this time. Not a 100% success, but I still like it. The original lineart was moved to scraps.

It helps that I know a skinny girl who regularly works her arms out and has some heavy muscle tone to them. As for the shirt, that turtleneck looking collar it has actually can pull up over her head and form a sort of hooded mask. She's wearing it partway up in the dungeon crawl picture here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4572058/
