Hope everyone has a happy Halloween! <3 Get lots of candy~
Not sure what happened here with the style... I wanted to try some crosshatching and it ended up being a fun experiment. :'D

awesome! love the face and how you did it. reminds me of this~ http://backtodreams.tumblr.com/
Wow. I am in utter awe D:
The fact that you can get your work to look so much like traditional medium is just astounding.
I really love the vibrant colors and movement in this. Incredible work, as always~
And I'm sure you're tired of being asked this, but what program are you using? Painter?

Wow, thank you! :0 I used textured brushes and a lot of hatching, which may have added to the traditional feel.
It started out in Painter, and then I transferred it over to Photoshop to do the details. I'm slowly training myself to do more in Painter, but I can't break my PS habit. >_>

Wowwww, I just stumbled upon your page and I'm so blown away by all your work! In this one I especially love your use of colours and the crazy brush-strokes. It looks like real wet paint, I wish I could figure out how to achieve that look digitally. i love the diamond shapes that almost make the fur look like leaves, too!
Thank you very much! :D Leaves were definitely the look I was going for, so I'm glad it's showing.
Corel Painter is useful for getting a wet paint look (as is ArtRage, but I didn't use it here... very excellent program nonetheless). Most of the background in this was Painter, and then detailed-up with Photoshop. :)

Painter is definitely different from Photoshop and a lot of other programs... the key is just to experiment. I've had a few friends hate it or love it, but I think the ones who hated it just didn't use it enough. ;)
Art Rage is a very cheap alternative, as well ($20 for the full version). I've seen amazing things created with that program, and sometimes I'll use AR for an underpainting and switch to Painter/PS.
