Got bored, re-found and then uploaded this sketch I did a month or so ago that I didn't feel satisfied with for some reason until now. Enjoy...
The Naktroper are a Doysian special forces unit created for both counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations, specializing in situations that require extreme stealth and unconventional tactics whilst fighting against opponents with numerical superiority. The unit was originally created to deal with insurgencies headed by the most fanatical supporters of Rain Silves post-World War before expanding to deal with other internal and external threats.
The unit is composed of soldiers, both recent and veteran, who have undergone a procedure that infuses a highly-classified, highly-modified fungus into their bodies. The result is enhancements to their strength and senses at the cost of potentially shortened lifespans with greater risk of complications, common for those who have undergone earlier versions of the procedure but all now rare due to improvements, permanent physical alterations and the procedure being initially limited to sergal biology, later improvements eventually allowing those of other species to partake.
They are dressed in a form of highly-resistant, bulletproof armor with high-tech, networked helmets and armed with Haklakok Ge311 caseless assault rifles, whose shape and use evoke shortened lances or spears.
