For the sake of my fantasy world, I have created various characters, not only depicting anthropomorphic animals or fantasy creatures, but also just humans. I would like to present Silvia Kardis to you. She is a young gryphon trainer whom I wish I could take to a short story some day if I do proper research.

Silvia can train gryphons, and has all attributes necessary to do it. Though less adjusted physically, she makes up for it in perseverance and fiery temperament. While working, she is always in charge with her whip, however, she uses it only when she finds it necessary to calm a beast down.

She is of a hot-tempered nature, which has been worked out by the fact that she works with aggressive creatures which must often be called to order. When something does not look like she imagines, it is very easy to put her out of patience. She is confident, and has trouble with admitting to the fact that she may have difficulties, which results in the problem that she conceals her feelings. Deeply within, she hides her sensitivity, and she shows it only in presence of people nearest to her. While interacting with others, she is extremely kind, and is willing to offer help if she sees it would be needed.

Silvia likes people, but animals are ones she loves more. She has especially taken liking to birds due to their majesty (birds of prey) or intelligence (corvidae). She loves gryphons the most as, according to her, she has never seen creatures that would be as beautiful, strong and persistent as them. Respect she earns from them is a satisfactory reward for all the effort she puts on training. However, owing to the fact that Silvia has to sell them sooner or later, she does her best not to chain to them. The only exception is her adult – five-years-old – gryphon called Gallant by her. The bond that ties them to each other is special. Since she domesticated her pupil, it has been him whom she had to call to order least often. Of course, she does not intend to put him up to sale in any case.

As Silvia puts gryphons above people, rows sometimes occur between her and her assistants. People surrounding her, though irritated with the fact that the trainer is nearly obsessive when it comes to ensuring good conditions to these creatures, try to have some understanding for her. Silvia works hard to continue the business after her father. As the first from his family, Derek Kardis domesticated gryphons, and made it a profitable business, as well as he taught his daughter everything he knew. However, he took a journey some day, and he has never returned from it. Silvia does not hesitate to take more challenges at all as caring for animals is her passion. Though she is not afraid to address her assistants in the unpleasant way, she admits to them herself that she could not bear with breeding gryphons without them, not to mention about keeping her business still alive.

Na potrzeby świata fantasy wymyślałem już różne postacie, nie tylko antropomorficznych zwierząt czy istot fantastycznych, ale też – po prostu – ludzi. Prezentuję Silvię Kardis – młodą treserkę gryfów, którą chciałbym kiedyś umieścić w jakimś opowiadaniu, gdybym odpowiednio przygotował się do tego tematycznie.

Silvia umie tresować gryfy i ma wszystkie cechy, które jej to umożliwiają. Wytrwałością i temperamentem nadrabia braki fizyczne. W pracy zawsze ma przy sobie bicz, przy czym robi z niego użytek tylko wtedy, gdy wie, że jest niezbędny, aby uspokoić zwierzę.

Dziewczyna ma naturę choleryczki, wyrobioną tym, że pracuje z istotami agresywnymi, którym często musi pokazywać, gdzie jest ich miejsce w szeregu. Kiedy coś idzie nie po jej myśli, bardzo łatwo wyprowadzić ją z równowagi. Jest pewna siebie i ma kłopoty z przyznawaniem się do trudności, a co za tym idzie, maskuje uczucia. W głębi duszy skrywa wrażliwość, którą okazuje ją tylko w obecności najbliższych osób. W kontaktach z innymi natomiast wykazuje się dużą uprzejmością i chętnie oferuje pomoc, jeśli widzi, że takowa jest potrzebna.

O ile dziewczyna przepada za ludźmi, o tyle zwierzęta wręcz kocha. Szczególnie upodobała sobie ptaki, ze względu na ich majestat (drapieżne) bądź dlatego, że są inteligentne (krukowate). Najbardziej przy tym uwielbia gryfy, ponieważ uważa, że nigdy nie widziała stworzeń równie pięknych, silnych i wytrwałych jak one. Szacunek, z którym ją traktują, wynagradza jej wszystkie trudy tresury. Jako że jednak prędzej czy później Silvia musi je sprzedać, stara się do nich nie przywiązywać. Wyjątek stanowi dorosły, bo pięcioletni gryf, któremu treserka nadała imię Waleczny. Więź między nimi jest szczególna – odkąd tylko dziewczyna oswoiła podopiecznego, to jego musiała najrzadziej przywoływać do porządku. Rzecz jasna nigdy nie zamierza wystawiać go na sprzedaż.

Fakt, że Silvia stawia gryfy wyżej niż ludzi, sprawia, iż między nią a współpracującymi z nią asystentami potrafi dochodzić do awantur. Ludzie z jej otoczenia – choć zirytowani tym, że dla treserki chęć zapewnienia tym stworzeniom dobrych warunków graniczy z obsesją – starają się wykrzesać z siebie nieco wyrozumiałości. Silvia pracuje z wytężeniem, by ciągnąć interes po ojcu. Derek Kardis jako pierwszy w rodzinie oswoił gryfy i uczynił z tego dochodowy interes, a także nauczył córkę wszystkiego, co umiał. Pewnego dnia jednak udał się na wyprawę, z której nigdy nie wrócił. Treserka bez najmniejszego wahania podejmuje się kolejnych wyzwań, ponieważ dla niej opieka nad zwierzętami jest pasją. Choć nie boi się zwracać do asystentów w nieprzyjemny sposób, sama im przyznaje, że bez nich nie dałaby sobie rady z hodowaniem gryfów, nie mówiąc o utrzymaniu interesu.
