(NOTE: Damien Nathaniel, rookie forward for the Williamsburg Minutemen, has designated himself as the resident blogger and tweeter for the team. Coach Roosevelt gave the forward his blessing, as long as he didn't compromise any sensitive information. This, naturally, does not include the occassional good-natured prank.)

Checked into the Heraton hotel. Room for each of us. Fire n Ice staying with her hubby, assume they know the "rule", haha.
9:00 P.M.
Room on third floor, very nice bed and bath. Huge TV. Think I'll unpack now.

Turned on FSPN. UArk needs to do good with the rock this year. Did beat SCarolina 45-20 in football bwahaha.

Time to focus on blog post before opener. More to tell there!
(A patron clicks on the Wiliamsburg Minutemen's official page and finds a link at the top with Damien's picture. He's making a goofy "word" pose and wearing his Arkansas cap backwards and his Minutemen home uniform. The banner reads "D-BUCKETS' D-VULGEMENTS". The patron clicks on the banner and zoom, on to the blog!)

This is it! We're on the of the first game of the year! I've been raring to go since I got up this morning!
Despite only winning two games in the pre-season, I think we're going to turn some heads once we start clicking. You can feel it, especially when Vera's on the court. She's going to be a real game-changer for us. And I'm not just saying that because she beat me in Five Shot one practice (Author's Note: Five Shot = HORSE, since it's unlikely they'd name the game that in a furry world X3).
Ruby's the team's best passer already. Several times already she's provided no-look passes for open threes. I happened to be on the receiving end of a couple of those. Ebony's great too... he really does work well with Ivory. With those three on the floor, they could actually develop into a great triangle of talent. Thank you, geometry.
The best shooter is a matter up for debate. And I'm not just saying that because I made seven of nine threes in the four games... I don't want to toot my own horn! Ivory and BC are the best near the basket and Ruby's already one of the best long-range gunners. I swear that vixen's going to be Rookie of the Year!
Best defender is BC, bar none. He completely manhandled Chuck-Chuk, it was incredible. I don't know what spell he's got that coyote under, but something rattles Yotechuk when he goes up against Lenny.
Best rebounder is Ivory. I don't even think he needs to jump for some of those rebounds, but it certainly helps when he does! Great instincts and great boxing out ability. I think I have to take a few pointers from him or something.
Coach Roosevelt helps us all feel like a team right off the bat. I felt it from day one. He has this sign above the door of the locker room, it says "Leave your money at the door; it's time to play basketball." Pretty good point. Coach doesn't take nonsense from anyone. He'll let you get away with some shenanigans because he says he used to do them himself, but if you're slacking or not being part of the team, he brings the hammer down. We found that out the hard way after being blown out by the 'Phoons. Certainly felt like we deserved the tounge-lashing he gave us. Still, we didn't screw up too much after that, so I guess it worked. The wins against Plymouth and Rocky Mountain were great, but the loss to the Bantams pissed everyone off. BC seemed pretty down after he clanked the free throw at the end when we were down by two. I offered to help him since I'm pretty good at the line. He said sure, so we'll work on that tomorrow. Haha, rookie helping a veteran...
We worked on shooting and defense like crazy yesterday before leaving for here. We're as ready as we're ever going to be. I'm looking forward to contributing in any way I can! Now it's time for sleep! Peace out, y'all!
