So, this is what happens when you let me sit around coming up with my own personal suit of power armor. Several years in the making, constantly updated and experimented with in my head. Unrelenting is basically the kind of suit I'd want to wear. Expensive, tricked out, built for shock assaults, dropping out of the sky, and going through walls and ceilings like they were paper.
What was that? Wall of text? I'M SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF HOW MUCH I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!
(no, seriously, I know the text is small and kinda clogs up the picture, but there's a metric shit-ton of information I wanted to get out)
Strype, art, and armor all © The guy who simultaneously has too much time on his hands and yet never enough, me

But your flesh is destructable. What you said is a bit like saying my laptop keeps demonic entitys away because there are no demons in the area and my laptop is with me...It don't make no sense!
If you want to wear something thats indestructable, then lower your damn standards!

Personally, i'd either shoot the fucker with a nice high pentration sniper rifle right in the head, or i'd bring in a tank. Yeah, he's wearing tough armour, but a tanks got a huge gun, and if he thinks he can charge at one willy nilly, then he's gonna die. Or failing that, just a gunship, rip him apart piece by piece, he'd be far too slow to escape.
Strype's got this thing about suppressing fire; he HATES it. Once a heavy weapons team, snipers, vehicles, or artillery start firing in his direction, he's the first into cover, freaking the fuck out for a few seconds. He knows this too, thus why he prefers ambush tactics, and striking targets while they're distracted with other things
How do you get the lines so fine without totally vanishing? Even though theres visible outlines, they never seem to interfere with the image. As for the colours...I'd kill to be able to get them that smooth.
Love the design work, really solid and believable while still going 11/10 on the badass scale, heh.

Wow. That is just freaking epic.
The design, while delightfully over the top, appears to be perfectly functional and quite deadly!
The little touches, like the tail gripper, sabre-claws on the armored boots and the subtle ears really are sweet.
It feels like if Terminator power armor went on a diet and had a baby with ODST armor with a pinch of Battletech mixed in.
Beautiful design.

*wipes tears from eyes* Wow. This pic is hotter than 99% of the content on FA, partly due to the extra detail provided by the Wall of Backstory. I would probably want to marry this suit, but that would be rather awkward, since you'd be wearing it. ;) I wish the two of you a long and happy career of puncturing hivestacks from orbit and punching people into a fine red mist. *wistful sigh*

OMG You should play my RPG! this looks like one of the light infantry units of the Imperial 'Czarist' army. The weapons fit on your arms as a single unit of multiple fire control per arm, the right 'arm' and left integrate into each other and form fit to whatever race is using them. 'Morphical' technology is what I mean. cool picture.
the visor's got a holographic layer on it, makes it look like there's actually stuff inside. If Strype
s working with good intel, he often changes the skull to the faces of the enemy's loved ones, or known fears as a form of psychological warfare. Gives him a nice edge when it's up close and personal

"so armor doesn't melt when Strype gets excited"
LOL WHUT?!?
Awesome overkill. But with all that armor and backpack I'd expect him to fall backwards when he takes his first step. And I'd wonder if the jetpack has enough power to propel something that massive more than a couple meters.

I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF HOW AWESOME THIS IS!
Seriously though man, I have only a couple of original military and mech gems to my name but I wish I could tag team them off to you for this kind of full res and detail work, kind of like I did for the Boogie man Gundam project...
But I am inclined to say, take this and SMASH all pretenders!

psh the "wall of text" made this piece all the more interesting. I love the intricate detail you put in your armor. Especially the hydraulic supports on your legs. Your character is very strong but I'm sure he may need a little help with all that bad ass armor he has on. You really thought this design out, I was really impressed with how you dealt with armor obstructing his claws. Your work is always amazing, I cant wait to see more :3
First of all, I WANT ONE!
Second, however, reading your description I have a conceptual material for you:
Irridium. It exists in very small amounts here on Earth and the only substantial mining possibility for it exists in meteorite fields for realistic accquisition. It has severe density and is insanely durable, especially as an alloy which overcomes its brittleness. It is only one step below diamond on the hardness scale (9.9 out of 10). As an alloy, it often has 9.4+ density depending on carbon content and tempering methods. It conducts electricity well enough, about half as well as copper, and conducts heat very well.
Just a concept for ya ^^
By the way, I love the suit. Very well thought through and extremely well-made. I have been covertly viewing you thanks to Fuzzy Tuba for a while ^^ I love your work

prolly only reason you can't her anything is that you have this playing inside your helmet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO_QntXc-c4
Oh Strype, you magnificent bastard!
As though my reaction is any different on you other pieces.
Having said that, the ground is a little off to me. Doesn't seem to flow well with the rest of the picture somehow.
I LOVE the ram's head on the pauldron. I hope you don't mind if I happen to, uh... utilize that little design idea in the future, its brilliant.

I think...I just slimed my shorts. Etched-in-stell sharpness and detail! Love the tail gripper! All the little insignias are a great personalizing touch. "Unrelenting"...with a beetle? ladybug? above it? You should use the crossed hammers-tiger skull design as your avatar, or signature symbol! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! FUN FUN FUN FUNNESS EXPLOSION MAYHEM FUN!!!
Impressive illustration!
On a technical note, one of the things that I notice when looking at heavy power armor is the ground pressure. (I've spent a little time hanging out and riding around in M113s and M901s back in the 90s) I would worry about sinking into anything that wasn't pristine reinforced concrete or asphalt with something like this unless it has some type of handwavium gravity compensator. Regular combat weight human infantry have enough mobility problems in marshes or snow, or urban rubble as it is today!

I would go with a lighter armor and a big fucking sniper (NTW-20 or bigger) instead... mobility, stealth and range instead of sheer firepower... still I would freak the shit out if I saw something that big charging at me, shooting a shotgun ANG a flamethrower... I would totally fetch the biggest gun I have and shoot at it until I ran out of bullets, then I'd trow the fucking gun at it... then I would run o.o
kickass work there, Warhammer 40k gone badass furry XD

This reminds me sharply of an idea I had for a Star Wars character of mine: a Togorian (anthro feline, built to almost Wookie-scale) mercenary - a somewhat-competent pilot, but by training and inclination more of a soldier/marine.
Instead of the hammer, though, he'd probably have had the workings of a lightsaber involved somewhere - either as the bayonet of his rifle or as an additional weapon slung under one forearm - for close combat, hull breaching, and other utility work.
This armor is perhaps the best design I've ever seen for a digitigrade warrior - with allowances for the tail, no less.

I completely understand; this suit is your baby, just like my archetype is mine. I've been working on the damn thing since I was fifteen and I STILL haven't got it right x3
Now, for the art...
Oh my dear and fluffy lord..... This is AMAZING ;-; WHY, WHY ARE YOU SO WICKED AWESOME, STRYPE, WHY?!
