I've made it no secret of what a venomous shrew Sharon is as a young adult, throwing whatever threats and hostile words she can at all who come near in the hopes they'll back off, but Melee is the first person she's come across where none of it seems to work. Sure, Melee's scared of her at first and a little confused at how such a sweet girl could become so angry at the world, but he also believes his friend is still somewhere inside that red reptile... alone, scared, and in dire need of love. She used to cheer him up when he was down during their younger years, and he now feels it's his job to return the favor and help Sharon in her time of need.

As for whether she appreciates it... well, that can be tough to gauge, but Melee seems to think she does in her own way. After all, she has yet to abandon him or kill him in his sleep... maybe he's right about her? Maybe Sharon does in fact like having him around and wants him to stay? Perhaps Melee's kind acts keep giving her pause to wonder if she's being too harsh with him...?

Regardless, Melee will continue to see Sharon as his friend and keep aiding her however he can.

A lovely piece of my two dragons during a quiet moment alone. Been wanting to get more art these two together, but I only get so many opportunities. This pic can sort of be seen as a sequel to the Dragon Hugs pic I commissioned another artist to do back in 2017, with the two aged up by about 5 years and their expressions a sign of how things have changed with the two since then.

I was very happy to have gotten a chance to get such a pic from an artist as skilled as Niix. Hopefully, it won't be the last!

*The artist actually just tossed that in there because he likes to take artistic liberties when doing these commissions and I've already told him it's fine. Same deal with the pattern on Melee's skirt; I usually draw the pattern striped, but Niix seems to really prefer a checker pattern. I mean, as long as the colors are right....
