Chuong: So there's nine of you? Your family is incredibly blessed and lucky.
Zax: Why do you say that?
Chuong: In the Vietnamese culture, 9 means "long-lasting". In Vietnam, a family with 9 children are said to be eternally blessed. That means to me, the Golden Fife and Drum Corps are eternally blessed since there's 9 of them from a married couple. It may sound like much at first, but to have 9 children within wedlock proves that the family is eternally blessed and successful.
Zax: So that's why, under Luong's administration, the Vietnamese family that manages to produce 9 children within wedlock receives tremendous government support through his family promotion policies to help maintain Vietnam's future.
Chuong: Yes. 6, 7, 8, and 9 are considered lucky numbers in my country. 9 is the luckiest of them all, or at least in my opinion. 8 is significant to me because it means "wealth".
