Oh how I adore Catling's work ;_; This came into life by us talking about various cozy scenes, bedtime themes, and eventually sequential images! If you look closely you can see the previous commission of hers that I posted as the magazine she's doodling on! It's always a treat discussing images with Catling, she's a font of amazing ideas and scenarios and themes. Even now we have such a big backlog of ideas just waiting to launch.

This simple outfit, I don't think I'll ever get tired of stuff like this. Comfy casual and sleepytime are the best looks a person can rock and no one can convince me otherwise! I especially like the messy top ponytail Catling styled for her hair, and the way her ears just flop along. The posing with the feet is especially cute to me because it basically all but confirms that she's in the process of kicking her feet back and forth ;_;

I was actually propping up the idea that Penelope would be diapered here. Just casually being padded and being comfy is one of the cutest scenarios in the world for me, but in the end it felt like it'd be a bit too forced to show one with this pose and have everything look naturally posed still, so that part of the idea was omitted. Catling isn't into that stuff herself but she is a mega sweetheart for even hearing me out on the idea ♥

I don't think Penelope actually spends much time doodling like this, a simple big heart is easy enough for her, but she's actually incredibly hard of vision, nearly blind even! Not many people play into this with her, but I'd say she'd be unable to identify anything beyond ten feet, maybe less? Definitely cannot make out facial expressions even sitting across a park bench even. It isn't even a problem that traditional glasses can fix. Magnification glasses help a little though when reading and the like though, but she has to get up *really* close to the page!
