Nul Drakke
A terminally moist and problematically tall dragon with a distractingly large chest. He's a genius with hydrodynamics.
Born to an average height mother and a tiny father, Nul's size is one of Djerkwotr's great enigmas. Despite Nul's immense size and impressive musculature, he is terminally shy, quietly falling into the background until something catches his interest. When it does, however, Nul's excitement bursts forth like a busted fire hydrant. Literally. Whenever Nul gets excited, or nervous... Or just exists for long enough, his body produces a tremendous amoun of moisture. Enough that he needs to keep a change of clothes on hand.
Nul is particularly gifted with magic for his age, and thanks to his afterschool studies with Professor Zul Zeddicus Zorander, he's already managed to enchant a magical focus to allow him to manipulate the shape and temperature of fluids in a small area.
Nul and Casey met at magic club when Casey decided to check it out one day. Casey thought it was cute how shy Nul was, especially with such an impressive rack for a guy! He invited Nul back to his place to try some astral diving. Nul really opened up and they spent all night exploring each other. After that they started to meet regularly to 'research' psychadelics and launch 'expeditions' 'beyond the veil.' Casey also convinced him to join the RPG club to help him open up a little more around people through roleplaying.
After recieving a letter from Casey, Nul was excited to see what could be cooler than the things they'd seen together.
That is, until Casey turned up dead.
Devi Johannes
A sincere and well meaning exchange student from another plane of existence. They struggle with 3 dimensional concepts and warding magic makes them break out in hives.
While it might be easy (even preferrable for the mind) to assume Devi is an eccentric looking dragon, He is actually an amalgamation of tentacles extruding from a fist-sized semi-solid iridescent sphere hidden in his sternum. These tentacles curl and twist into the form of a vaguely abominable mix of an axolotl and a squid. Devi sometimes struggles with communicating and comprehending concepts native to this world, and his writing curls outward from the center of the page in a messy spiral. At his core Devi is a curious and awkward, but ultimately helpful and kind teenager.
Casey is one of the few permanents Devi remembers becoming familiar with after being ushered into his plane of existence by him in a magic ritual by the lake. Casey helped him to his feet and even let them crash in his bed while they got accustomed to this plane of existence, Even though it isn't certain whether or not Devi sleeps. Casey gave him one of his pink sweatshirts before he went to go stay at the church orphanage, and he cherishes it to this day.
Devi ended up taking a liking to Football due to the way it demonstrates the effects of energetic but opposing paths of objects in motion, both at a distance and in tight clusters. Also he's very wiggly and hard to tackle, and throwing things comes naturally to him since the geometry of Djerkwotr is much simpler than the noneuclidian tangle he has to deal with at home.
Devi ravenously consumes books, though not literally of course, and is eager to learn as much as he can about this world and its functions. He's read through the church library several times, and is well on his way to reading through half of the community library already.
If Devi is truly comfortable with someone, or desperately needs to get past the communication barier, he can share a 'drop' of himself with another. The psychoactive effects of this rainbow drop lets the recipient see and experience the world like Devi does and dramatically reduces barriers to mutual comprehension. To date, the only person to receive this honor is Casey.
Naturally, he was excited when he recieved a letter from Casey saying he wanted to show him something cool.
That is, until Casey turned up dead.
