NOOooooo!!! NONONONONO! Tape does NOT come out of the box!
Still have a collection of fav VHS's tucked away, untouched for years, but had fun memories of recording shows and being able to re-watch fav scenes and movies.
Hate to say, but with as finicky and fussy, buggy and messy as magnetic tape is/was I'm glad it's gone.
