Rodent seems to have found himself at a smaller size than usual, and when he saw a discarded apple, he decided to pretend to be a worm digging through that apple.
Unfortunately, it seems the apple already had a resident worm who didn't take kindly to such an invasion upon his apple and dealt with the intruder accordingly.
