I'm real easygoing especially by furry standards but you don't slip someone anything without their knowledge whether or not it causes them harm, that's how you wind up in court. Or in this case, putting your relationship (which are built on trust over everything) in even hotter water than you were initially in.
...I am referring to the fact that he's going to be affected as well. He's also getting hit by it because it's going to be in his food as well...
...And need I mention that you're also trying to inject modern policies... In a Fantasy setting that has very little of such law and order, and that she can kill him?

I'm well aware of what you meant and I'm no stranger to the whimsy of a fantasy setting either.
Even so, getting your wife juiced up on mystery potion without even giving her a chance to consider it because she's still mad at you is still skeevy (and dumb) even if you get fucked up with her.

...Are you even Listening to yourself? I mean, did you even bother to repeat what you inscribed, again and again, and still have it sound Good?
You're trying to write Darnell like he knew full well what he was doing, like he knew the effects of the potion, and he was being Petty because she was angry.
You're making him sound like a Monsterous Rapist, who targets women, simply because they get mad at him.

He looks like he knows what he is doing.
I don't think Darnell is a bad guy and is genuinely trying to fix things. But that doesn't make this the right way to do it.
Also Just because he will be eating it too doesn't make it any more right to slip in a mystery ingredient without the other person knowing.

I think you're looking too deep into the "Rapey" thing that apparently some gits keep trying to insert.
The Babushka said it was "Meant for Lonely Fishermen at sea to break their ships free of Ice on the coldest of nights"... Which does not make it sound even remotely like a Sex Potion.
We have No idea what it truly is until it takes effect. Darnell has no idea what it does until it takes effect. Only Babushka knows... And her explaination was about as clear as Volcanic Mud.

Darnell has no idea what it's going to do, other than it "spicing up his night." At least Babushka said it certainly wasn't a love potion, so "roofying" is off the table.
It's still kindof a scummy thing to do, but Darnell is clearly getting desperate here. He's not a bad guy, just the opposite, but we've also seen he's just not the sharpest tool in the drawer, and is more impulsive than thinking through the consequences of his actions.
What got him into trouble in the first place was not communicating with his wife. The "Surprise" turned out to be unwelcome. Hopefully, this second "surprise" will go better if he's lucky.

People seemed to be really worked up over a guy adding something to the food without meaning harm. Majority of the time, it just means that person should have probably mentioned about weird stuff because they should have known better, nothing beyond that.
Fuck, even if you are bringing up allergy, they may not know, or even forget, about this stuff.

That's the thing, he's not even sure what this potion thing does exactly beyond the barely even vague descriptions the old lady gave him. He's not being malicious, he's being naive. It was as simple as asking for more specific details on the effects.
That being said, whether he takes it alongside her or not is irrelevant, the point is that adding some substance, especially some unknown concoction like this, to another person's food or drink without their knowledge or consent is just plain wrong. Not only is it morally wrong in general, but it could be dangerous as well, since one can never discount allergic reactions and the like.

It doesn't matter what it is. It doesn't matter what Darnell thinks it is. It doesn't matter if his intentions are good. This is a basic body autonomy issue. You shouldn't do things to people that will affect them mentally or physically, even beneficial things without their knowledge and permission.
Its like... if you broke into your neighbors house while they were on vacation and vacuumed their carpet, you realize that would still be creepy and wrong, right? It's not about what you are doing or why you are doing it, it's the fact that you are doing it without their consent.

Regarding this, I wanted to mention two things:
- First and foremost, everyone has complete freedom to express their opinions on everything. That's okay and I can accept that.
- Often the readers can only give an opinion based on which page is currently uploaded. I understand that. If the complete comic had been finished and uploaded, things would be different. As a result, it might be quite easy for viewers to draw conclusions too quickly.
Please be patient to see what happens on the next page :D

I didn't start anything, I made one comment as one would while for example, watching a movie (don't go in there/do that/kiss him! etc) and instead of a simple "let's wait and see"
instead took it upon themselves to attack literally everyone with a similar comment.
Also, as Viktria and you yourself pointed out, us non-patreon people can't see the future, so we can only make our comments based on the immediate. What we need is less people provoking people like me into feeling like we need to defend what should be construed as innocuous comments.

You make a point. On my behalf, I have come to know Darnell is a trickster before meeting Shani, and Shani is very upset so it is better to upset her even more.
Then, on your part, Shani was a genie for a long time.
All and all, the outcome seems to be positive, my speculations do not matter for the outcome.

I've seen you make this defense three times, and you've been way off base every time.
You don't seem to comprehend the problem here: if it is something to make a person more susceptible to sex, then ALL people taking it should know BEFORE taking it. If she brought something to make him horny and he didn't know he was taking it, it would be just as bad.
He knows what he's taking, she doesn't. THAT'S the problem. If they were both taking it and both knew what it was and consented, that'd be fine. But he knows what it is, and she doesn't; that's gross no matter how you slice it.

While I agree with what you're saying, I do gotta point out, he doesn't even know what it does, as you suggest.
The lady who gave it to him never explained /what/ it does, just that it can "make the night special", she didn't even make it obvious what it does, as she went from "makes the night truly special", to "helps fishermen who free their ships from ice", to "warms up the frostiest of nights".
It could be anything from a potion to help keep you warm (fishermen and heat comments) to an aphrodisiac (special night comment).
Plus, we gotta keep in mind, he's not exactly the smartest apple, considering his logic was "warm is the opposite of cold, so I guess I'll take it".
We just gotta hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.

no one is taking anything tho, and no one is putting stuff in food? its okay to be like oh no I hope what I think doesnt happen aaaa but to assume??? just wait till the next page, as a patreon I know what happens and dont think so bad of Darnell, he'd rather die before something happens to his gal trust me xD
I see there's discussions and concerns regarding Darnell drugging Shani. I generally agree that adding unusual substances to food and serving it to person without their knowledge is immoral or unethical, but like Viktria said, we should probably wait for the next few pages and see where this goes.
I'm assuming Viktria has been writing, reviewing, and revising the plot alone. unless the artist has friends help provide feedback and advice. So far the artist has put out awesome comics, so I'm not terribly concerned; then again, it's hard to please everyone. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the next several pages.
