The marble floor are in fact two big tablets from another kingdom, They were given to Olivier by
his friend and customer, Countess Aronaxis.
The text ingraved on them tells a cautionary tale about a man who had everything, but greed and delusion pushes him to seek just a bit more,
resulting in him losing everything in the progress. And it explains how he is chained with regret and hate for himself to the end of time for his foolishness.

Anyone else hear the Superman orchestral theme going?
*cough*
It must be a distant band practicing, let's go look for them. Nothing happening here, move along, move along!
(Side-comment: Mor'rai hasn't moved anything but his mouth in this page. Is he paralyzed from something more than shock?)

I´m sure that the second He caught it, somewhere on the planet someone hummed a heroic tune :D
He is VERY much both shocked, confused and scared to the point of paralyzing.
It is like if we caught a car flying towards us.
We would most likely be shocked as well, but then revert to a somewhat logical thinking with a buttload of " WTF " added.
This, however, is a yinglet doing this :D

Okay, I just finished reading the 108 pages and at this point I'm only going to have 4 hours of sleep before I need to wake up to get ready for college... But I don't regret a thing!
Engaging story, full of mysteries, beautiful art (Currently it's pretty cool, but I found the big-headed humans funny) intriguing characters and above all, a protagonist that moved me.
My most sincere congratulations!

I am both glad that you took the time to power through the whole comic, but also a bit sad that you´ve lost sleep because of it XD
A hundred thanks for enjoying the story, characters and art etc!
Lost of more good stuff to come!
Yea, the first pages can be rough to get through, especially the text setup and the humans " hate drawing humans XD ".
The comic´s beginning was a result of me starting after a long drawing hiatus. It´s both a good thing and a bad thing.
It´s funny to see how the style and quality evolved, but it´s also bugging a bit that the first pages aren´t at all up to par with todays pages quality.

I expect its more that there is an interaction with the yinglets, and I should point out, any way you think of it, Mori is a 'special'. Both Mori and the matriarch are from the south, at a point when they where still making there law set, thats a big part of why Mori's perents wanted to flee so far away.
I should also point out, its not a matter of giving Mori straight. Just strangth alone would not alow him to hold that pose so easily, and would have likely had him tipping over, or having to pull it closer to his chest to keep from tipping over. Its not a matter of strangth, its a matter of physics. Still, considering 2 humans where able to move it, I expect its less than 200 pounds as is, maybe, 300 at most. Mori can't waigh much more than like 40 pounds. Now lets be honest here, both in this comic, and in the original, we have seen tech devices that look magical, not the lest of wich was 'Zat Zing' Something was evolving yinglets, and still is activly involved, in one way or another.

Good theory breakdown!
One idea to take into account here is indeed the one that goes something like-
" Some technology and events happening in nature are so advanced and unfathomable spectacular that it seems like magic to the common man witnessing it "
Whats happening here is the result of events, and with this big leap, I look forward to reveal even more of the secrets in the coming pages!
The weight of this piece of stargold is about 100 kg. It is very heavy, but duable for 2 adult men.
Mori´rai is weighing a bit more than your average yinglet, due to his good life with Eric´s family. That would be about the weight of a overweight domesticated-cat.

Thats why I was figuring was not a matter of physical strangth. Physics would have still tiped him over in that pose. He would have had to have an equivilant waight near the tip of his tail to balance it out. Thats kinda what takes down thoes giant cranes you see tipping over on youtube all the time. I also figured the thing with magic/tech. After all, any significatly advanced tech can seem to be magic. I was expecting the stargold to be something other than just a heavy rock, and I would not be suprised that the pendant that the matriacrch has is a bit of the same. Heck, my first thought seeing the sky in valsalia was that it was caused by a colony ship explosion or some sort, or a messed up transit.
What should have happened If he didn´t manage to bolt away, or THIS happened, would be that-
His body would be pushed back, and his small upper frame would be crushed. all his internal organs and bones would be splattered and pushed into the newly formed cracked marble floor.
It would be a terrifying view, luckly, THIS happened :D

Yes, my point is simply its not because he got very strong, and not super hero level an very strong strong human could hold the stone. Even Stephan could probably catch it, walking back some step and put it down.
Just that this stone got much lighter as Mori´rai can hold it up in this position.
Now they are lucky they don't have so much science who would break, most of our would be wrong.
