So based on the last post, I know I wanted the OKLCh scale. I would first pick the color in an OKLCh color picker which would then give me the right RGB. Then I'd modify the color in my image editing software to match. I decided based on the LCh scale and my first post that I still did want to go for the glaucous hue which turns into OKLCh 258.67°, but I realized that I wanted the chroma way high. I want Tibbit's fur to 'pop' rather than be dull. So now here are the colors I'm looking at. Unfortunately the file size is around twice what FA allows, so this is a low res version. Below the blue line is what I've considered to be too uncolorful. I've loaded a few of these into my collage of commissions, but it's time consuming. At one point I was strongly considering a brightness of 55 and a chroma of 0.17. In fact, I went to bed thinking "I found it! My search is over!", much to the relief of my wife who's sick of me talking about color for the past 2 months. Then I woke up in the morning and went... I'm not so sure anymore.
I'll figure it out. Once I do, I am going to make some other slight changes as well. Then I'll commission a new ref sheet, as I want a version that a little more towards the realistic side. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm excited to see where this ends up. I'm definitely in "analysis paralysis", but I'm having fun doing so :3
Edit: I figured it out! After much hemming and hawing, I decided on colors:
• Base: oklch(63% 0.2 258.67) (#3084ff) (Closest color pencil: PC 1102 - Blue Lake)
• Accent/Stripes: oklch(45% 0.13 258.67) (#22539c) (Closest color pencil: PC 1101 - Denim Blue)
• Underbelly: oklch(97.5% 0.01 258.67) (#f3f7fe) (Closest Color Pencil: PC 1087 - Powder Blue)
• Eye color: oklch(66.03% 0.097 95.9) (#a49248) with highlights of oklch(50.86% 0.098 96.48) (#766512)
• Nose: oklch(85% 0.07 15) (#f8bcbf)
Now onto the new reference sheet!
