Hmmm... I do have a little prediction about Nigel. Namely that Rah'Jan will wind up recruiting him as a spy at first. He was trained in childhood to become a guardian so he has some good skills and he hates the Tree of Life with a passion. Rah'Jan could show him the same thing as Lynus grandson to persuade him. Said grandson was loyal to Luna but utterly broken after being shown those visions, so what would that do with someone who already hates her?
He might even use the shattered relationship Nigel has with his parents (who I really hope we'll get to watch dying while staring in horror at their own intestines) to set himself up like a misunderstood father figure to him. Though of course when it comes to actually causing damage to the Guardians and citizens by blabbing out their plans, his conscience will pull him away again. Just a little theory though.

I doubt Nigel would ever work with Rah'Jan. Even though he hates the world, he still has a degree of respect for Luna... And still has some affection for his Little Bro Tommy.
What would be the bigger twist... Would involve Tommy, the younger brother of Nigel, being either the Spy to Rah'Jan, or Tommy having been a Double Agent, working for Rah'Jan... Out of a Twisted Spite at his family and the Tree of Life for what they "Did" to Nigel.
...I feel that would be a bigger twist... That while Nigel has a lot of Spite at the Guardians for his family rejecting him, he also has a lot of respect for Luna to the point that he'd rather live like a Street Rat than join the Darkness... While Tommy's brotherly love for his big bro Nigel became twisted into Spite at both the Tree of Life, and his own family for their (indirect) actions, that he was willing to side with Rah'Jan to spread the corruption...
...I dunno why I can imagine even Rah'Jan feeling urked at Tommy's level of Spite if that is the case. I mean, we saw that while Rah'Jan is the antagonist, some of his casual side peeks through while he was leaving the hamlet with the corrupted Guardian... Implying he would have some standards to what is considered "bad guy behavior"...

I feel so bad for Nigel since he was cast out by his parents, kinda makes me think of Sylvainโs brother from Fire Emblem Three Houses where since he wasnโt born with a Crest (a sort of magic thing in the game) he was practicing calmly disowned, he ended up as a bandit and stole their familyโs ancient weapon which when he used it without having a Crest it ended up mutating him into a monster.
I hope Nigel will be able to avoid a similar fate and be able to become a hero despite being refused as a Gaurdian, Iโd love to see him rub it in his parents faces.
But I have a question ? Does he resent his brother ? I forget it his brother is a Guardian and worry that if he is then Nigel will resent him.

Don't think he resents his brother, after all he saw his brother being practically ignored by his parents until he 'failed' the Guardian acceptance trial, then the two tossed him aside and focused on his brother instead. If anything he sees his brother as another 'victim' of his parents, and in his mind of the Tree aswell (since he blames her for his shitty parents' dumb pride)
He also notably avoided using terms like "piece of shit" when referring to Tommy, his little bro.
This is notable as He practically calls everyone, Including himself, "Pieces of Shit"... A notable exception being Luna herself. That is a very high pedestal all things considered.
That means Nigel puts his little brother Tommy on the same level as Luna... Though... Considering how his family reacted to Nigel getting Rejected as a Guardian... Well, how will they have treated Tommy if he was also rejected as a Potential Guardian?
...If Tommy ended up being treated like Nigel... Would that mean Nigel in future may have to handle Tommy, corrupted by Rah'Jan's influence?

It's probably because he can't, wanting to have nothing to do with her is one thing, but having the means to do that is another. As far as we are aware of, he has nothing, no home, no money, no friends, no family. Plus it was said he's meant to be an unlikable individual, so I'm assuming at this point, while living in poverty, he's also spending a lot of his efforts showing his contempt for both her and the guardians.
Actually, if you paid attention, Nigel may hate many people, himself included... But he never directly insulted Luna.
He also had a similar stance to one other individual... And that was his little brother, Tommy. He called Everyone, but Luna and Tommy, "Pieces of Shit"... implying in some manner, he still respects the Tree of Life, Luna.

Actually from what we know, he blames Luna for literally everything wrong that's happened in his life.
Out of all the characters that we know, she's the one individual that he'd definitely have a low opinion of, and have a lot of ill will towards, considering she did, inadvertently, cause things to go downhill for him, and contribute to his drastic shift in personality.
There's absolutely no chance at present, that he'd have any respect for the one, who is his eyes, made a decision that effectively cost him everything.
As for Tommy, well, we'll just have to wait and see, considering he ended up becoming a replacement goldfish for Nigel, when he failed to live up to his parents expectations.

Hate to break it to you... But its been outright stated that Nigel blames literally everyone but Luna... Himself included.
That was how he introduced himself in his Prologue Chapter... And even called himself "The Absolute Worst".
He also only has that "Blowout" when trying to get Luna to lose her temper on him... It was never to harm Luna... But rather, to try and get Luna to hurt him.
Also, Viktria basically pointed out on Nigel's Character sheet that "Nigel hates himself".

Were exactly does it state that Nigel blames everyone but Luna?
And if he didn't blame Luna, why were we shown him still having recurring nightmares, blaming her for everything, years later?
Also Nigel's ref sheet never mentions anything about him hating himself. He's described as being eternally sulking, and peevish, in addition to being made to be unlikable.
Furthermore from other titbits of information that we've been given regarding his character, he's stuck in the past.

Yep, it was clearly a dream. Also, it seems Nigel grew up being a jerk... and a thief. Clearly, having missed out on being a true Guardian ruined his life, though there is still hope for him. However, it seems that he is in trouble now for stealing that food; I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a beating, although I hope it doesn't happen.
I once saw a picture on the internet that showed someone sitting at a computer wearing a hoodie backwards. They did that so that they could keep their snacks in their hood and underneath their face. I thought that it was one of the most clever life-hacks I'd ever seen. Anyway, it's cool to see a variant on that idea in this comic!
