If you look back to page 113 it was Saffy misunderstanding Lycen for a game. Debbie just went along with it to get her way.

The most straightforward ways out of this, where Debbie explains what sort of playing she actually meant, involve some degree of confirming Saffy's currently in an infantile mindset and that she thus had to be euphemistic - assuming Lycen believes it (although it probably wouldn't be too hard, given some of Saffy's behavior). But that carries its own sort of risk.

Debbie definitely gets on my nerves. I'm sure that's perhaps the idea, but not only does she disregard Saffy's safety during the op she clearly demonstrates she's more concerned with her own wants than Saffy's wellbeing, and regardless of what's going on here, she has to know she's bringing hell down upon herself afterwards, if the staff of CTN are any kind of guardians.

I mean maybe I just grew up with a greater sense of responsibility, but if someone is in your care, you watch their back. Doing any less is unacceptable.
