Abridged Biography: One of several hundred magical servants created by a long lost civilization, Louness and many others were lost into dimensional rifts surrounding their home island. Pressed into slavery to a cruel goddess, Louness was forced to write a never ending history to the goddess until such a time she could write no more, at which point she would be devoured. But using her newfound knowledge of magic serving under the goddess, she managed to escape before that could happen. Though the journey was long, she would eventually return to her home island, forever saving it from the threat of dimensional rifts. Though nowadays she's better known as the Cosmic Librarian, curator of a multiversal library, there's a mysterious gap in her life she's often evasive about. Only time will tell if she ever wishes to speak of it.
Species Quirks: Nebula Dragonesses are nigh on indestructible, attacks able to pierce their soft yet durable scales only causing them to destabilize into the enchanted seawater used to create them, where they will reform after a period of time. They are mainly aquatic, and can regulate their body temperatures to survive extreme environments, though not outright avoid discomfort in them. Their scaly bodies are covered by coats of luxuriously soft fur, and their scales grow softer and more sensitive when exposed to water. Notably, their dreadlocks aren’t hair, but rather softscaled growths that serve as sensory organs both above and below the water. The only real magical ability they are able to use at will is their “Nebula breath”, which is used mainly to entertain and to entice other Nebula Dragonesses. It is an otherworldly mist that appears unique to each dragoness, and is essentially a micro space phenomenon capable of experiencing events such as supernovas and blackholes on a small, harmless scale. When inhaled by others, all it causes is a harmless fit of coughing, making it something of a light defense. But when a dragoness inhales the breath of another dragoness, it has an almost aphrodisiac-like effect, making its use standard in courtship rituals.
Louness’s Abilities: Louness is a standard Nebula Dragoness in many regards, possessing all the same quirks as them. However, with the use of her Cosmic Tome, she is able to perform feats far beyond the capabilities of even other powerful mages. Her tome is capable of reading objects written into it into reality. Short descriptions require a lot of focus from the wielder of the tome to read into reality, while longer ones require less focus but understandably take longer to conjure. The tome can also read others into the stories within them, transporting and, in some cases, even trapping others within the tome.
The tome also serves another very important task. Using her attunement to it, Louness has strengthened her form, giving it more physical matter. Now, she won’t destabilize from a single blow piercing her body. She essentially has more “meat” to her now than other dragonesses. However, her attunement to her tome to produce this effect has tied her to it. Blows or force that would lead to her “death” still only cause her to destabilize, but she will always reform from the tome itself. With so many of her powers and abilities tied to it, she does her best to keep it safe, but anyone in possession of it has nearly total power over Louness.
Louness notes: “Yeah, I have phenomenal power at my fingertips! But it isn't exactly mine. Sure I could bust out of any predicament I end up stuck in with an amazing show of rump kicking, but that draws the kind of attention I want to avoid. That goddess I escaped is still looking for me! The less reason I give her to check out a world I visit, the better. So when I hear someone talking about how I must enjoy the situations I end up in, I say bwaahrk to that. Very lovely character but I’m even more in awe by the detail work of that read. Such sweet descriptions and highlights of the features but the origin background to a good extent really delve into good lengths for one’s curiosity. And that’s not even factoring in what one could find in an archive like that~
