Sandura has always cared for her sister; she's the main reason Ranisha is still in the pride. Her asking what Valari is going to do with her, is a genuine concern, as Ranisha being harmed/killed has been a big no-no from San since the start. Her caring isn't something new or sudden, it's been a constant beat throughout the story.
