“So what do you think we should do?” Maria asks, already half taking off her own harness.

“Well there are four of them, we know two will likely have a full set and no clue how many the other two have, so it’ll be two against potentially twenty-four different pokemon,” I comment, noting that I’m getting a sense of resignation from the human watching over me. It isn’t the matter of what is smart as doing what is right, even if it is a bad idea. “So that means that if we do this, it is extremely likely that this will be the last time you technically belong to me.”

Maria nods, finishing taking off her own harness and moving to start taking off my own.

“And there will be no way that I can guarantee that I can protect you from being caught.”

“But evil prevails when good do nothing. And I do kind of have a vendetta against Rocket. Even if they let me come into being, there is still that grudge.”

“Well, I guess it’s been nice knowing you,” she gives me a deep hug after removing my harness; I wrap one of my tails around her in response.

“I’m sorry you never got your gold. Good luck in whatever life they throw you to after this.”
