The question becomes how best to intervene. I cannot simply launch an attack from here. Too far to be able to hit on the Rocket’s pokemon and not attract attention. And with Maria being much slower than I am if I’m unable to stall I may have to potentially take on four to five pokemon all on my own, depending on if the other trainer tries to attack me rather than acknowledge I’m trying to help.

“So what’s the plan?” Maria asks.

“Go ahead and get close. Try not to get seen but get there as fast as you can. I’ll hold off as long as I can before going in. I’ll keep them from capturing anyone else. When I make my move, do your best to get the trainers out of the fight first and foremost.”

And I hope that she’s able to get close enough, because I know I probably won’t have long before I have to act. Maria takes one last look at the scene below before just sprinting towards the carnage. I start maneuvering myself as well, but going more in a corkscrew pattern so that I can get between them more easily and not alert them to Maria’s positioning. And as I do so I can see the Ursaring just casually grabbing the trainer and throwing them away from their pokemon.
