I'm more than jealous of oCe's colouring ability. That shit is hard.
I wanted to do something to keep my mind occupied for a while, and after checking oCe's site for a while I thought I'd try and use most if not all of ArtRage's tools. I don't like it much, but it was good practice.
Words are Sarah Mclachlan's.

I really want to address that you did a great job showing the movement of the piece with the colors that you drew, as well as the pastel looking shading that coordinates with the mood of the piece.
This kind of reminds me of a Blues musical theme in the background, and I can almost imagine your guy becoming animated like that, because it's also a very contemporary style that you are drawing this in, although this reminds me of the time period of the Harlem Renaissance.
I like how you treated this more like a painting than you did just a normal drawing, and how you felt the freedom to draw extra strokes that follow the curves of the smoke in the background as well, and the choice of words was not lacking in the art, giving it a more Blues feel.
The only suggestion that is nit-picky is that the ears of this one don't look as if it was put as much effort as much as the face in the shading or textures.
Either that, or the lines outlining it are a bit too thick.
And also it took me a little while to see what was going on in the piece at first for some strange reason. I didn't know what this was at first until I realized it was a guy laying on a bed, smoking and being pensive. But I don't know why I should be complaining about this, when in the bigger picture is very emotional as a whole.
Very cool experimentation. I like this one a lot.

*snaps his fingers* Sidewalk chalk! :3 That's what it reminds me of...I've been sitting there, trying to place it for a couple of minutes, before it clicked.
Wonderful work, indeed! Haven't heard the song, myself, but just reading the lyrics, it seems to fit just right. :>
