This story contains mind control, but it isn't the "Character walks around in a trance and says 'Yes, master,'" kind of mind control. It's more the "Empathic villain overwhelms the heroes with emotions like fear and anger" kind of mind control. For the other kind, see my recent hypno story:

I considered splitting off the final section, with Remi and Nunzio's conversation, into a Part IV. I don't know if this will look like a bit much to read, but it's about the same length as Part I.
