I felt like Serena needed a skirt for some reason. And you can't give a character a skirt and not have them swish it around a bit, right? Also making this helped root out some issues with the skirt so I could correct them.

Like... what type of coffee drink with sprinkles does Serena get? Who's the table top gamer of the group? You know the one, they just have all the knowledge like they're a walking source book but they play so casual?

Serena definitely strikes me as the type who gets 'coffee' that's more milk and sugar than actual coffee. Not sure about the tabletop gaming thing yet, none of them quite hit right for me there... maybe one to keep in mind for a future character, heh.

I know nsfw drives world forward and I'm always amazed by your skills (only you can make some weird kinks look hot, wtf), but damn I love your sfw art so much! Well animated characters just chilling and enjoying being around are so....I wouldn't say hot as in nsfw art but it can really warm one's heart in different way :)

My one complaint with cloth physics in games and animation is that they look good when the cloth is hanging, but once it starts doing anything opposing gravity it gets real wonky. Also, clipping.
However, I certainly hope this isn't the first, and last, time we see Serena in a skirt. Skirts enable so many options...!

The thing that always gets me is the life you put into your characters. Like, you didn't have to loop it so that she's glancing up at the viewer, basically saying "LOOK, LOOK AT MY SWISHY SKIRT! ISN'T IT ADORABLE????" and how she looks so excited and happy. But you did, and it's fantastic!

Question about that though; how do you study it? Do you perhaps do some of the motions yourself in a mirror or simply look at other works with similar motions?
When making things look life like while moving you have to move the whole body in both active and reactive ways. You nail that and im just curious how you do so, as effortlessly as you seem to do. <3

Honestly, I don't really... I brushed up on the 12 principles a bit early on, but other than that I just animate a lot and try to keep an eye out for things I can do better in the future. That's about it. I'm certain I'll hit a wall doing it this way eventually, but personally it feels to me like you can get a long way early on by just jumping in and doing some stuff, as long as you're mindful about what does and doesn't work while you're doing it.
I also cheat a -lot-. x3 Which you should always do while animating (when appropriate), it's the correct way to do things! The hands for example, I didn't really manually animate those- I just parented them to the ribs so they were following the motion of her upper body perfectly, baked the animation so I had frame data I could play with, and then set the keyframes for her hands back a few frames so they'd be following behind the ribs. Then I set the rotation back a few frames further so the rotation would lag the motion a bit. Bam. Hands animated in about 30 seconds. The fingers I had to do manually that was pretty easy since it's a loop.
There's lots of little tricks one can do to speed up the animation process, if you keep an eye out. :P
