I decided instead of drawing concept art of what a Snaârg talisman would look like, I decided to jump to doing one in 3-D. I like messing around with real tangible items when it comes to things like this. Is that bad? xD Some people consider writing about something such as clothing you own that your character also wears to be Mary Sue-like, but since this is my own idea I guess it isn’t? I don’t know. Sometimes I like to work in 3-D more than 2-D. I might make some adjustments for the final product of what a Snaârg talisman should look like to me, but other than that...
Anyway I really like how this turned out, all the details are wonderful and complement the piece. I painted some of the feathers with shades of gold, pearl purple and blue, as well with some glow in the dark paint. I hate how ever since Avatar came out, anything glowy or colorful just doesn’t seem creative. I’m not intentionally trying to copy James Cameron; I just wanted the jungles of Reo-Rax to be colorful and glowy. :’C There’s nothing wrong with that, rainforests here on Earth are very colorful with all the flora and fauna, and some animals actually do glow in the dark, like scorpions. C: It still makes me sad though that ever since Avatar came out, nothing seems creative anymore, just copies and spins of old ideas. ;-;
Anyway I had fun making this, the Snaârg paw pads glow in the dark and as I mentioned before some of the feathers do too. The talisman is also adorned with Snaârg lower fangs, Snaârg horns and Indian bells. So the teeth are obvious where and how they were obtained, the horns are of a baby horned Snaârg. Horned Snaârgs shed their horns every year like deer do so when the winter season comes there are tons of horns on the ground. Every year a horned Snaârg matures, its horns get just a little bigger until they are fully grown. Some Snaârg paws glow in the dark as well, but this is more of a rare occurrence.
You’re just going to have to trust me on the glow in the dark part, as I’ve said before my camera doesn’t do dark environments. :C
