Wind Dragons don't always wear ribbons... but it is pretty frequent for them to wear "something" on their horns or tail, jewels, floating charms, talismans or any sorts of clothes reminiscent of their element... it is a sort of way for them to feel closer to it, even if some view it as only a personal fashion choice.
For Aeryl, it is both a reminder of his tribe, his element, but also a way to have a sort of signature to guide others, this is why he has a long visible ribbon. (Besides liking it, of course !)
Giving a ribbon or any other sort of wind accessories, especially a matching one... it's sort of a symbolic way for a wind dragon to say to another creature that they trust them, and think of them as a close friend ! Like one of their tribe !
There's not so many creatures that could be counted in it... but Nordstrom certainly is one of them !
