Glory, Page Twenty-Seven
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Glory is the first big collaboration between
foxenawolf and myself. She does the linework, and I make it a comic. Basically I draw the panels and do the toning and shading and tweak and move and wiggle people around and just comic it up. I also write the script.
I have a classification of bad guy I refer to as a "Mook". A Mook is that guy that exists to be tough and probably die, and this poor fellow was a mook. Mooks also fail when they are requested to deliver clever dialog, alas.
This is a page that kind of demonstrates why sometimes it's good to have an external person play with your art sometime to give you ideas. It was my idea to get the spatter brush and draw foam coming from the mook wolf's mouth. I wanted to indicate he was blindingly angry after being humiliated in front of his fellows and the flecks of foam spewing from his mouth gave it that little extra kick I wanted. Additionally, blindingly angry people are especially deficient when it comes to witty dialog. So really, this is a mercy killing.
The little badge on their collar supposedly helps the wolves resist bullets, but Verse's shots pack a little something extra. "For every ward there's a counterward", as the old dwarven saying goes.
