What caught my eye is how sharply defined Kass appears in Yannit's vision compared to the others. We had the scene when she (in an agitated state) was brought to Ran and she perceived everyone as "ghosts" until she could touch them with her antennae, at which point, they, or rather, Ran, finally seemed "real".

Demonstrates just how "imprinted" upon Yannit Kass really is!

Beautiful thoughts of an alien mind, and how we might translate it. And words they don't have words for in their language ... and words we don't have in our language.
And indeed... when we think of uniforms, we think of dehumanization, of crushing individuality, of crushing identity... But here the uniform for HER meaning something different... for both of them...
It now means BELONGING...

I mean, "belonging" is how some humans think of uniforms, too. Being accepted and welcomed into an exclusive group.
I imagine they have less problematic loading among people who chose to enter organizations that use them, as opposed to people who had a uniform for obligatory schooling, for instance.

Hi again! I'm back again to remind you that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
Oops closed out last month at I think 56th place and around 900 votes. It's currently at 891 votes and 52nd place. This is the last day to vote this month. Let's push this up there! The top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

I think this is a beautiful way to illustrate the workings of an entirely alien but also rather innocent mind. Many sci-fi writers would kill to provide this kind of insight into something as alien as Yannit.
But in the end... Indrel have feelings. And Yannit feels them as intensely as any mammal. For a hive creature being isolated like this would be scary as hell, but Yannit's mind is flexible enough to accept humans as just a weird hive. Bravo - most writers wouldn't go near this sort of thing, but you pulled it off with panache.
And Friendkass is good.

Well thanks! Honestly one of the big reasons I included Yannit/indrel as a character in this story is that I feel I have a lot of perspective on it to share, in ways that makes for an interesting addition to the story. Glad I did, and that there are people who appreciate that!
As a writer, I salute you. Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words, and the pictures you painted gave the audience all they needed to know what was going on in Yannit's head. I do appreciate good writing, as well as good art and you knocked both out of the park today.
I love the coloration of words indicating a feeling and mental texture behind those words. Adds an entire layer of connection between different things she's thinking. I particularly like that the only other word with the same texture as "good" is "stories", really just shows her character and motivations so well from just a pair of matched colors.
I also like how she thinks of Kass as FriendKass and herself as DroneYannit. I take that as, for indrel, an individuals role or task is so important that it included in their designations of others, not just a thing they do but a fundamental part of who they are.
In some ways this is similar to how I think. A lot of things have mental textures associated with them, especially impressions of others. Not exactly the same, but... I've never seen this expressed at all before, let alone so simply and effectively!

It's quite fascinating to see this, have this situation shown trough her eyes. It's really freaking cool on multiple levels. The idea itself, the way it's done, shown.
Knowledge farmer, grow and harvest knowledge, farm together haha. Yes you sure did Yannit, you gorgeous creature. And while Kass got bit annoyed by it, it actually helped you since it occupied you, and some people/creatures need it. Btw, FriendKass is good heheh.
I'm pretty sure I'd get along with Ran pretty well, I too like to learn, experiment, study... things as well as myself. If by some strange incident was there, was a human, and suddenly became something else... as much as it definitely would've been quite a shock, it does open up doors to fascination and study.
...Damn, I got too into it again, into my head haha. Anyways, great page! Great work Valsalia, Caedere, Oniontrain and Koofins!

The way you write Yannit's inner dialogue has always felt perfect. I don't know how to explain it, but it works so well. Words like "KnowledgeFarmer", while something a human wouldn't say, you can't say she's wrong. You can understand what she's saying but her sentence structure is very much detached to how we speak, and I think that's why it's so great.
I do think Clawdragons really explained what makes this page so great overall, however.
