Introducing a second pixel art piece made using 80s art software and limits of my sona, that retro snek.
For anyone new to this piece of mine or the previous pixel art piece - this was made using Deluxe Paint III (1988) for the Amiga line of computers, specifically using an emulated stock Amiga 500 (1987). This piece features a palette of 16 colours and has been converted from .IFF to .PNG and upscaled by a factor of two, like my previous piece.
Also forgot to mention last time it's done entirely with a mouse, which the software is very well designed for - it has the most satisfyingly curve tool that makes pixel line-art very easy just to name one thing, it's a great piece of software that's intuitive in so many ways.
On my art piece in particular, I've refined the work-flow methods I used in my previous piece to something more close to my normal shading which I hope comes off well; I'm quite impressed with myself for being able to adapt to such old software this quickly to make something as good as this with the restriction of 16 colours even (which I could go to 32, but if I recall correctly that'd require a beefier Amiga like an A2000 or a newer/modified A500, and I want to get an A500 in the future so I wanna keep it relative to what I may use), especially considering it's only the second art piece I've made.
In conclusion, hope you all enjoy; I'd say this is quite the improvement from the pixel art I did earlier this year of my sona, and that was with modern software haha.

He looks so badass here. And that smug look with the floppy disk... I love it! He knows he has something I don't have... he's such a typical, classy yet cheeky snake~
Again i'm impressed with the lighting here given the low res and limited colours. He looks so smooth and shiny, while the shadows adds depth and defines his geometry. Particularly the cobra hood, i'm just drawn to how soft and smooth it is x3
Really cool overall vibe i'm getting here, and it even suits his retro clothes very well.

Glad to hear you like my smug looks alongside the other lovely compliments~
Appreciate hearing that about the shading, it's more inspired by my normal work with some changes to suit the pixel art style and refinements to the work-flow from my previous piece. I did make sure to give the hood special attention considering it takes up most of the composition haha.
Also glad you like the vibe, it might be limited but I like to still try having those 80s aesthetics haha.
